I often see the funny memes and posts that us parents (particularly moms) do regarding having a glass of wine or a cocktail, etc. at the end of a hard day. I myself have a pretty low alcohol tolerance, thanks to meds that I take & due to the fact that I've learned that if I have more than one glass of wine, I'll pay for it the next day. But I sometimes wonder about us moms who post that stuff - how many are really, truly struggling with addiction. Many of us are just having a good laugh & it's all good moderation - but obviously, some, like yourself, are drinking too much, too often, and feeling awful about it, but not feeling able to share that feeling. You are definitely NOT alone, as I'm sure you now know. I hope that you find nothing but support.

Love this. It also reminds me of the many times I snuck cookies. My parents used to have a glass cookie jar w/ a stainless lid - if you weren't reeeeaaaly careful, the lid would clank against the glass sooooo loud. And it was kept on top of the fridge. I developed mad ninja skills.

My son is terrified TERRIFIED of bobble head dolls. My parents babysit him every Wednesday & my dad likes to watch baseball. My son doesn't mind baseball himself. Except at least one every game, they show a bobble head. And my son screams & cries instantly like he's seen the most terrifying thing on the face of the planet. My mom & dad race to change the channel, but can't get there fast enough. This is their account. I've been lucky enough not to witness it.
Poltergeist also totally scarred me. I slept with a light on until I was probably around 20.

hey - no idea why i came up by an old user name - me with the kid who likes water fountains - jenny saul-avila here. i don't need no anonymity.

LOVE it. I mean, I don't have more than one child, so a sibling book is sort of useless for me in some ways - but you know, classmates & cousins & stuff like that - why are they not like me? Whatever like me is? Why can't everyone else play with Play-Doh for hours - even if playing with it often involves just leaving it to dry out on the table while doing other stuff - don't you dare put that away! Why don't other people see the joy of sitting in front of a mall water fountain indefinitely? NT people are so complicated.
