Great post, Amanda. I felt a lot of familiar things in reading this post. My husband and I both have a problem with over committing to ministry. I finally heard a Priscilla Shirer quote once that helped me remember to go deep in prayer over something before I commit: "Every good thing is not necessarily a God thing." I know that our helping out and leading are great things for us to do. But I also have to remember that God gave us a marriage, four children, a home, a business and me a job outside the home (part time). I've been doing a lot of saying no over the years and every time it frustrates me. I won't lie. The pride kicks in. But I feel a wave of relief flow over me when I know I've done the right thing and I embrace the place God has me. It sounds like you and your husband are gaining this wisdom, as well.
