Women time-traveling in "Doctor Who" do have a wildly uneven time of it, but they do definitely talk about it. Like that time actual trained medical doctor Martha Jones got stuck in 1913 and everyone was like, "How could you be anything but a chambermaid, you are a woman and also black" and she was like, "Fuck you, I'm going to name all the bones in the human hand for you to prove how awesome I am and how much this time period sucks ass."

Oh my gosh.

My friend and I were standing by the fountain in Madison Square Park once and Anna Wintour walked serenely by, in this fabulous paisley coat. She proceeded to walk straight through the mob of people in line at Shake Shack, and the crowd parted like the Red Sea.
