That's adorable. I totally get the kitchen thing. Ours has this funky 70's thing going on, complete with Harvest Gold stove, and the lighting is terrible! Who knows...maybe your landlord wouldn't mind you painting or sprucing it up? It would increase the value of the house. Just a thought. :)

Adorable chicks! We really can't put anything out in the garden much before Memorial Day either. I love all of the little violets that come up in the lawns, but can't use them for anything because neighbors still use chemical spray (boo). I believe it is actually one of the few flowers that is native to our area (and possibly yours too).

I always love hearing about your family life. It's been wonderful following your adventures into homesteading life. Of course, I would love to continue to read about what's going on.
