I really enjoyed Better Off Red, and this interview was very funny and interesting. Looks like I've found a new blog to read.

I have just been thinking that there need to be more YA novels about kids with unemployed parents since so many kids are living it.

Whenever I go to the ballet. Most of the audience is 75+ which is fine but some of them seem barely alive. Also, whenever I hang out with gals who are very into clothing or Jesus.

Wow, that's quite a haul. I think you're really going to like Something Like Fate by Susanne Colasanti.

As a writer, I would hate it if I got a negative review that said my book sucked and the reviewer hated it. But as a reader, I hate it when a blog has only positive puff reviews, and the reviewer loves every book, because then I don't get any real information. I think your review falls nicely in the middle, because it expresses that the book wasn't for you and why, without being mean.

Wow, thanks for giving your readers that hard-hitting review! I had heard a lot about XVI and had a lot of questions about it, and you just answered some of them.

The Other Half of My Heart sounds very interesting. I'm going to have to look for that.

I bet you are going to love reading about Jews and learning about Jewish culture! Get ready for some serious humor!

I just read this too! I loved it. I wasn't too excited about the premise either, but once I started reading it, the main character Jamie's voice swept me away and it all made sense. I liked the cartoon villain aspect of it, and I thought the parents seemed realistic. I think a lot of teenagers don't perceive their parents as whole, well-rounded people. We see the parents through Jamie's eyes, and I thought it was realistic that they didn't spend much time with him and were busy with their sad sack business. I did feel the start of the book was the strongest part and we galloped through the climactic ending as if the writer were just rushing it. Some plot threads were introduced and never fully resolved. I am definitely looking forward to more books by James Klise!
