I'm sorry about your dad. I lost mine three weeks ago (it was three weeks the day before Thanksgiving) so it was hard for us as well. Losing a parent is so hard.

Can you do a blog post (or comment) on how you got Cecilia to read so well that young? Ariel is 4 (5 in July) and can only sound out individual letters, so I'm interested in any help I can get. She is not the most patient kid and though I try, I've not had much luck teaching her.

I actually have a student who was ready to give up because her body was changing so rapidly and she couldn't figure out why center and across the floor were feeling different. Luckily she stayed but she was so frustrated. Great post!

I love how they're getting pitch and rhythm so young!

One day, when trying to get Ariel to take a nap, I sang All The Pretty Horses. She was out by the time I finished singing. Now, she requests "The don't cry song" nightly. It has become our thing. A couple of weeks ago, we asked her if she could sing it to us and she knew most of it! I was tearing up. So sweet! They really listen even if we don't think they are. THIS IS SO IMPORTANT.
