I remember that!

The Vicar of Dibley did an episode that echoed that, though not with spaghetti. She was too polite to turn down four Christmas dinners with friends. This must be a recurring theme..

Wow. All I'm saying is I would like to believe in something without other people calling me a moron. I'm not trying to make you believe in something. If you take the approach that I am allowed to believe anything I want, that's great, because that's all I was asking for. However, my comment was directed at people who actively condemn other people for believing such things. I didn't think that was too much to ask. It's a shame, because it sounds like we actually think alike on this subject, but you responded as though you were disagreeing with me.

Unless you think posts like Phil up there with "people don't actually believe all this, right? I mean shadow people? atmospheric beasts? got to be effing kidding me" can't be argued with.

Cool list, I dig this sort of thing. It does make me sad to see people that express belief in any of these things get down votes.

So here comes my down vote: I totally believe in Shadow People. I wouldn't have if I hadn't seen one. It did not disappear when I looked at it, so I got a pretty good look. I'm not gullible- I'm completely willing to accept that it might have been something else, but I can't think what. It was in a house, and I've tried to work out what could have been against the light source in such a way as to cast that shadow- and have it move the way it did, but I can't find it. It didn't even totally look like a shadow- more like a palpable black shape.

So... yeah. Think it's silly all you want. There are things I believe in and things I don't. However, I never condemn people for believing in something I don't believe in, because I know I wouldn't believe the things I do if I hadn't had some experience. The burden of proof has been satisfied on my end, and it's not very fair to condemn just because *you* don't believe.

This is always a touchy subject when I discuss movies with people. Most of these movies just weren't confusing to me. I'm not trying to sound superior or anything, but it's just so weird to me when people miss details that seem pretty straightforward.

Also, on the subject of primer: I have not heard that the director said he didn't know what he was doing. In fact, I have heard the opposite- that everything you need to know to figure out the movie is in there with the exception of why their investor knew about and used the machine. It took a lot of thought and attention, but you *can* figure out (more or less) what is going on in that film. I just wish they didn't speak so quietly (I watched it on netflix, no subtitles-they whisper too much)

What an immensely creepy list, which is to say it is right up my alley. Thoroughly eerie and upsetting, but fascinating at the same time. Reminded me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0e6sfiylUGY - that's a traffic reporter in a helicopter that crashed. She died, the pilot survived.

I LOVE coke. I don't drink any other sodas, juices, anything but water- and then a coke every few days. I can't help but laugh at all the people talking about how bad it must be for you. Sure, it *is* probably bad for you, and it certainly has no real nutritional value, but as for me? Well, I'm pretty sure the whiskey and real butter will take me out sooner than the coke. I may very well live a shorter life, but at least I've truly enjoyed myself.

Also, my favorite coke recipe (not much coke in it, really, but I think it makes a difference): http://slow-cooker-collection.yumsugar.com/Smokey...

Three years- it's funny, because it actually seems longer to me, and I haven't been with the site since the *very* beginning (I stumbled on that recordings list about... two years ago? Yeah, that seems about right...)

Also, I want to win a book! I can't justify it in my budget (especially with a new baby on the way), but I apparently have a list published in it, and I really want a copy. You'd think I'd have just broken down and gotten it, but it's always seemed like too much of an indulgence whenever I think of it. If I don't get it now, I'll have to wait and put it on my x-mas list.

THIS is the kind of list I need: I'm forever running out of horror movies, and even though I've seen half of this list, I haven't seen the other half! On the other hand, I've been wanting to see the Asphyx for a while, and I've queued it on netflix, but its just on save, they don't have a copy :( I'm sure I could find it, I haven't put too much effort into that (because I haven't even seen the movie), but it does bug me all the crap that's widely available and the little gems that don't have much of a chance because they're harder to find.

Also, anyone seen '08's House of the Devil? I saw it the other day, thought it was pretty alright, but I hadn't even heard of it until I saw it. Thought that was weird for a recent halfway decent film. Wondering if I missed out on the publicity for it or if it genuinely just flew under the radar.

No, but seriously- this guy is terrifying. Without his country and money, I could say he's just like a lot of local crazies. Unfortunately, with his country and money, he is just like giving the local crazies those things. Meaning, he is batshit and, while I am sure he is laughably incapable of taking over any other country, it does not mean he wouldn't try. Then we will lose valuable soldiers to the stupidest war in recent history.

I woke up really depressed today, but seeing "God of Cookery", I thought 'why not?' and watched it right then. That is an awesome, awesome movie- it really cheered me up. Now I'm looking forward to watching all the others, and all the other Stephen Chow movies I can find. That guy's a genius! Now I'm hungry for BBQ pork...
