Fare thee well, Melis. You're Prudence now.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT
Hillary is a Toastie! BRB going to troll the open threads for "I'm up for a promotion, and my key competition is a bloated orange sack of racism and entitlement with a air of fascism about him who is woefully underqualified and has a platform that he can't elaborate upon in any way. Meanwhile everyone is trying to accuse ME of being the untrustworthy one. Help, Toastie friends!"

Meanwhile this actually made my holiday weekend.

This makes me so sad, but money aside, burnout is a very real thing! I will relish in your last month and a half and then find somewhere else to be a blog refugee (I've traced old timey balk/choire gawker to the awl and videogum to the hairpin to here - and shall continue to survive), and then you all can get some very well-deserved rest.

Thank you. You are all talented and wonderful and this place has been a true gift.

Caps addition mine: "That usually involves the 9-5 gig, a minimum of 2-3 hours a work on side work (10+ a day on weekends), an hour workout, and I still make time for friends, dates, 2-3 HOURS OF BURROWING MY BEADY RODENT EYES INTO THE GLOW OF MY COMPUTER SCREEN, MAKING ANGRY INTERNET COMMENTS ABOUT THE EXISTENCE OF 51% OF THE POPULATION AND THEIR INTEREST IN BREAKFAST CARBOHYDRATES IN A FORUM FILLED WITH OTHER SIMILARLY CAGEY AND MEGALOMANIACAL MALES, etc."

I love that he goes through his day and does not acknowledge WHERE and HOW he finds all this time for intense MRA blogging? Women: very lazy, very little commitment to trashing another group of people on the internet.

I didn't know that! That is the version we still have, but if I'm honest, I actually almost always fast-forward that part. It is a lovely song, but I believe it clocks at about 207 minutes long.

And hooray for all of these people who absolutely love this version. It's only the Muppets or Alastair Sim for me. George C Scott can pound sand.

I very quickly became a tea convert and have never again lived without an electric kettle (it's been 13 years), and still use it to help with Ramen even though I am in my 30s.
This egg idea is intriguing but like you, I am less brave now. And prefer tea that does not taste like egg-experiment-gone-wrong.

You don't have a problem, you have tenacity! And a lack of laziness (I have much laziness).

That happens often in the US as well, as they are very confused when you ask for tea and milk, so they bring you the same mini-pitcher of cream/half and half they bring the coffee drinkers.

To prove your point, when I got to my dorm/flat when I studied in the UK, the ONLY amenity it contained was an electric kettle. I do not even think we were provided rubbish bins. I had never even seen one before and was baffled, my European and British flatmates didn't bat an eye. They were like, "Yep, priorities seem to be well in order here."
