Oh I didn't even know they remade it (but most things get remade these days so no real surprise), and according to IMDB I guess I didn't miss much.

House is definitely my jam I actually think I checked it out because you posted about it a while back? I need to track down a physical copy.

I really liked Pontypool. I went into it actually having no idea it was a horror movie (I was familiar with the director's previous work and he doesn't usually do genre stuff) so that it was a total surprise actually made the slow burn of the plot a lot creepier.

I watched Martyrs a while back and wow I cannot handle new french horror at all, it all just seems to be torture porn these days with the exception of Les Revenants which is old school creepy and I liked and do recommend.

I LOVED The Host (Korea), May, Devil's Backbone, Ginger Snaps, The Descent though

I'm also one of the last people on earth to see the Ring so I guess I should get on that.

So last year someone recommended "The Loved Ones" and it was pretty great if extremely uncomfortable.

May (2002) I watched on my own and it was completely solid. Also uncomfortable to a lesser degree.

House (Japan) was fantastic. Ek Thi Daayan was a solid but not really scary witch movie.

I watched Black Christmas way back during Christmas break it was one of the only slasher movies I found legit scary.

Suck was an OKAY but not amazing vampire comedy.

Last year I watched the first Halloween, all the Elm St movies and the first Hellraiser and the first Blade so I'll probably continue w the latter 2 franchises.

I will most likely be watching the new Guillermo del Toro, and A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night this year also

Is the Descent sequel worth watching at all?

I'm a little late this year but horror movie thread, for those of us that like them?

Stuff you recommend, new stuff you've seen that you've liked, ask for recs, etc.

And Elektra also! That makes sense.

IDK Marvel is always super conservative and boring with it's casting so it's always kind of depressing to talk about the possibilities and then it gets announced that they settled on the same kind of white guy hey were always going to choose.

Not to derail this obviously important point that I agree with (I think even an Americanized asian kid originally from the same culture could be played as an outsider idk) but I thought there was talk going around that Marvel's potential Moon Knight series would replace Iron Fist in the netflix lineup.

Which, I've been kind of wondering about since they had cast Misty Knight in the Luke Cage show but not Danny.
(It is btw forever my opinion that the fourth netflix series should have been Daughters of the Dragon and I'm bitter.)
