Happy Friday, my beloveds. I don't know how I survived 31 years without the Cocktail Hour, but I am so, so glad I don't have to anymore. You're all aces.

This is my first totally-free, completely unscheduled weekend in months, and I'm celebrating with a two day staycation! I have some fall cleaning/purging to do, which I am actually quite excited about! I recently became friends with an avowed minimalist - as in, she hasn't had fixed roots in several years, and is instead following her curiosity wherever it leads her on the globe! It's inspired me to take a hard look at the things I've accumulated over the years, and I've realized a lot of it isn't necessary. I still have the memories; the artifacts, with a few exceptions, aren't quite as relevant or vibrant as those memories.

Maybe I'll watch a flick or two as well. Throw me your favorite ladyqueer movies, won't you? And why can't Carol be out yet???

I'm also having the strongest urge to do some kind of crafty/decorating project, or something with my hands. Any ideas?*

*Bonus points if it will help a hapless soul get over a crush on a straight friend (who's overjoyed at her new relationship...as she should be, of course. this is a bit of clusterf&*k of a situation I've gotten myself in.)

Yes! Me too! Although my grinchiness is due more to lack of understanding than irritation at having to do things. (Because I'm single and sans kids, I blessedly get to be totally selfish in how I spend my time!)

Maybe I'm just a grumpy old fart, but the whole "dressing up thing" never caught my attention. I get that it's a ton of fun for people, but it's just one of those (many) things I can't seem to relate to.

Oh man, this is the most curmudgeonly post ever. I'm here in solidarity with you! I'll be stay-cationing at my apartment and steadfastly refusing to answer the door. Scrooge out!

Oh this is incredibly relevant to my current life! I've never quite done the dating thing (my few relationships were all borne from pre-existing friendships). I'm just now realizing that maybe being alone kinda sucks and isn't in my best interests, long-term. I also kinda really miss sex and whatnot. (Who knew, right???) AnyWHO - I'm all kinds of interested in how you are going about this, if you don't mind me asking! What on earth is a sex butler? I feel like this is something I need.

I'm running my first 5k tomorrow, Toasties! I'm excited and a little nervous but I'm really looking forward to it! I spent the past few years losing a decent amount of weight, and this is one of the things I wanted to do once I got healthy. Finally crossing something significant off of my "life goals" list (I hate the connotation of death in the phrase "bucket list," in case you were wondering. Important details!)

I reached my Frost lifetime quota after the FOURTH school field trip. I don't mind the poetry, but NH's educational system really needs to slow its roll regarding "treasured local sons." (On a related note, I can't walk out my door without hitting my head on something labeled "Daniel Webster...") Still love it here though.

Well, so much for finishing the book I'm reading, as I'll probably be binge-watching this tonight. Goddamn it, and I was THISCLOSE to properly adulting for the whole day! Not one single regret.
