Good suggestions! I love narrative nonfiction, which is designed to read like fiction. I love the storytelling aspect of reading, whether the story is fact or fiction.

Fun topic! Eugenia Cheng has a couple books on mathematics that look good, but I haven't gotten to read them yet.

So, I didn't do a good job avoiding POI spoilers... because basically I never try and don't care about them much, and I am SO BUMMED to know what is coming is coming. Like... why? And I'm sad a show that I am otherwise all in for is part of what is a really bad trope in tv right now. So, amen like Jenny said and boo to lame stuff on tv.

Brain on Fire is such a great read -- scary, but really interesting.

I have ugly cried in public because of SO MANY BOOKS. I am the biggest weeper in the world, and if I'm absorbed I just can't stop.

Ugh, this is the worst. But I'm so glad Kate is getting into treatment right away and that she has all of her parents, biological and not, there for support and help through a difficult time. I am sending as many good thoughts as I can muster to you and your family :) I'm here if you need anything.

I totally agree that the fact that Strayed is a writer really elevates this book. It's beautiful -- one of my favorites. And the fact that she approaches every problem so generously resonated with me. We all need to be more forgiving of ourselves and others.

I'm with you on Five Days at Memorial. Such a good, important read. I like essays on pop culture too. Alan Sepinwall's The Revolution was Televised was a good read in that respect.
