Although there were several individual episodes that I enjoyed, I was never able to get into it enough to watch it all the way through.

I don't like horror at all either, so I always appreciate Halloween lists that have books I can actually read. Of these, I've only read A Breath of Frost.

I too only like it if the author has the characters be conscious of the effect. And when they recognize that a feeling is not a relationship; you still have to work to make it work.

Don't feel alone. I am horrible at punctuation. I got A's in school but commas are just so tempting. And I don't take pictures (I did a whole 2 week vacation without taking any), so the pictures on my blog are usually unedited ones from the legal free sites.

Good luck unpacking (I still have unopened boxes from a move 7 years ago, I hate moving). Congratulations on the new house.

Oh, Wrath is a good one. I hate cliffhangers at any time, and really hate them if the next book isn't already in the can.

So I like the standalone idea, plus I would chose really long hardback books, whether they were absolute favorites or not. This would allow me to read for a longer time before starting over. And, when I wasn't reading them, I could wrap them in leaves to protect them and use them to kill creepy crawlies, crack open coconuts, and other useful things). My selections would be: The Lord of the Rings (one of those that have all 3 of them together), Battlefield Earth, The Sword of Shannara, and The Host.
