d-listeded article about this is hilarious: and it also got me curious. Has there really been no men of color as their "sexiest man of the year"?

I'm sure this thing is probably rigged (catering to whoever buys them out), not that matters in the grand scheme of things (as you said, it's a subjective topic). But it unfortunately may have it's effects on younger generations and the worlds view of America (and M.o.c in general) to always have a white male being the "sexiest man alive" in a international magazine.

Saying that, it does seem Idris Elba should have been the one featured: seems to have been a busy year for him publicity wise.

Just a curiosity: I've only ever really seen clips of this show Steve Harvey hosts (hosted?), but I've noticed something: Did he have it in his contract that there should be an equal amount of black families chosen for the show?

When I was a kid, and from the clips (from previous hosts) I've stumbled upon, non-white families were rare from what I could tell.

Hypothetically, Not calculating in the mother, or the families, support of kkk ideals, The question is: how do you explain to a kid that he can't wear the costume of a scary villain for Halloween, when he thinks the kkk fits that category?

...oh wait...maybe I answered it while typing: You can pretend to be an imaginary villain, but not a real-life villain.

But now I'm curious: What if it was a dark skinned child (black, hispanic, indian, native american, etc.) who wanted to dress up as kkk for halloween? It would be a case where the family clearly isn't supporting the kkk in anyway. Would it be a valid villain halloween costume for a child of color?

It's cause and effect: and no man or woman is except from the consequences of their actions. For either sex, I do believe the victim (in this case, the man), should pull their punches if it's clear the other person is weaker and when the situation isn't serious enough to merit overpowering the other. Which I think this man did: pull his hits.

From the vid; how he only reacted when she hit him, showed that he was only dealing out consequence, and not taking it overboard: overboard would be if he continued to hit her after reacting to her single hit. And I have a feeling that if he was truly taking it too far with his strength, he could have easily sent that woman completely through the window to night-night-ville. Even he was surprised she fell back hard enough to break the window.

And is it just me, or is it really annoying for people to say someone is wrong for hitting their attacker back? So they're just suppose to have someone hit them without consequence? Fvck that! Whether the retaliation is overboard or not, is irrelevant: because a majority of the time, the victim would never have dealt said retaliation if the attacker just kept their hands to themselves.

To say a man is wrong for hitting a woman back, is basically saying it's wrong for the women to receive any consequence for hitting said man: which is the erroneous mindset I think is behind so many women being so quick to hit a man; they don't expect any consequence.

I never read the 'Days of future past' comic: heard it is famous in the American comic kingdom. And I know [blank] dies, right?

I want to be excited...but am slightly skeptical. Seems interesting story wise.

And I just thought of the one thing that WOULD make me blindly excited about it: if joss whedon was the director. Just the thought alone...

I'm curious on why it took so long for this to be a trending topic. I first heard about this a couple of years ago: with the exact same images you posted a short documentary about it that showed even more injuries.

I have zero sympathy for these people (One woman in the documentary REALLY annoyed me for acting like such a victim):

- They either knew the risk, or were they so stupid they took a drug they didn't know anything about.
-These injuries don't just pop up overnight, so THEY choose to wait so long before going to the hospital.

I'm a rider myself (yamaha R6 currently). It's my sole mode of transportation. Though I do try to have fun by picking up speed on the Freeway when I feel 100% safe doing so. I'm not part of a club, but have rode with a large group just once. and learn other group riding etiquette from my brother. I mention all that to say;

I agree with Lo-Kei: Both parties are responsible (thought the coma guy may be an innocent casualty if it is true he was not an aggressor). And with his mention that non-riders do not understand. To me, non-riders (mainly those who are saying "fvck bikers"), can't have a un-biased, well-rounded, view of the situation if they don't understand the rider perspective of things .

I hate these type of situations: where both sides could have easily avoided the drama escalation. If only the biker didn't slow down too quickly, if only his friends didn't get off their bikes (That part of the footage is not clear at all, which is a vital moment I think), If only the suv driver didn't over-react (even if for his family, he could have drove away without paralyzing (maybe even killing) a man)...etc. etc.

It's a shame all around. Both parties are to blame; so both should be charged with something.
