What a great post. You are doing well and your abs are fabulous! Good tips too, there are a few things I new I need to improve on. But like you, I partly blame my weight gain on diet energy drinks but I have cut those now out. And it makes a difference. Congrats!
Hahaha, I saw the first box and I was like " no way somebody's legos fit in that box", and then I saw the pile of boxes. That's more like it! ;)
Awwww...you kissing your girl is my favourite!
Have to say, I think your daughters way to handle the pushing Aussie boy was pretty good (because, well, how old is your daughter?), I bet quite many others would have rather pushed back. Yes, the older she gets, the nicer she can do it, but honestly, shouldn't the boys parents had intervened and helped their son to play nicer already before this? Yes, I know, we don't always notice everything as parents, I'm more thinking in the line of the ideal as this was about teaching social skills, maybe that would have been a perfect opportunity to teach the boy as well that pushing somebody may mean that they don't want to play with you, however, maybe you can position yourself a bit differently so that their is space for both and then play together and have more fun?
Oh, it is so diverse! I would have loved one when I had babies. Lucky nowadays I don't have to carry quite as much with me anymore :)
What a nice way to portray the many dimensions of motherhood! I'd sign most of it but the part where I'd be the Lego master won't work: my first born is the same age as yours, and she already is wayyyyy better with Lego than I am. Even little brother knows that, and if dad is not home when he breaks one of his lego airplanes /helicopters / racer cars, he goes to big sis to get it fixed, not me... :D
Happy to say I think we are pass needing a carrier any more ;) but I was still curious enough to see what that one is like!
Especially since we used a Manduca, the newer model of Ergo, were quite happy with it but have to say when my kids where 2,5-3 years old, it wasn't good for them any more. The fabric part under there thighs got too narrow and didn't support their legs very well any more. We did use it short times though e.g. transferring on airports in a hurry. So I am surprised to see your comparison say it should work till 4 years! But I think the Todby might be better longer, seems pretty adjustable?
But then, I think we all hope our kids mostly would walk themselves when they are 3-4 years old and carrying would be just temporary...
Seems like a great museum to go to on our next stop-over in Singapore!
Haha, I mostly prefer to travel without a suitcase but with a big backpack which keeps hands free when travelling with children. otherwise zip-lock bags are great, a pocket knife and baby wipes are on my must have list, and the rest is up to mustering a flexible attitude ;)
Trying to think what we packed for our first born when travelling for 6 weeks with her in the southern hemisphere (we returned home when she turned 6 months). A baby carrier and travel stroller for sure but I just can't remember anything else... But it was a great trip so it was definitively worth travelling with a baby!
