That's heartbreaking. Shame on the adults involved for not finding a way to make sure bases were covered so that kind of awkward moment wouldn't happen. And congratulations to your daughter for keeping it together and being there for her friend. That's the kind of leader I'd want in my organization.

I just completed 7 decades of the rosary during a dental appointment. Rosary was in my pocket but I counted on my fingers. Then things got too intense and I lost track...

Looking forward to your "AFTER" photos :) And when we were searching for our first home, we made the same decision--get that mortgage based on one income. We've never regretted doing that, and the pressure from realtors and well-meaning other people was high.

Good for you, standing up for your daughter even when you knew how it would pan out. I hope the family was given some food for thought. Shirts like that aren't clever--they're cruel. As the parent of a diabetic, I'd be just as upset to see a shirt with pictures of cupcakes and candy with a message, "I beat diabetes." People just don't get it.

Small world! My uncle is a Franciscan friar and used to be the pastor there (Father Brice). Also, my mom taught in the school for a few years (Mrs. Grady).
