Nice current comparisons, and I'm sure each is striving to improve what they're doing.

As a writer, I've upload books to each platform, and as a reader am enjoying both for the variety of books available.

I do, however, like that I can use Scribd on multiple devices, including in my browser. I have books I'm reading (and seeing ;-) like Five Hundred Buildings of Paris) open on both my iPhone app and my browser. I also like being able to upload supplemental (blog like) articles related to my books to Scribd and offer those for free.

For now, I'd agree, Scribd has the edge.

It's an interesting time for readers and writers, glad you posted this; hope you do follow-ups, best wishes ;-)

yes, it's a pleasure

and gotta give ej some kudos, "some" of what i've seen going on with trying to make authentic conversation on "some" social media sites is brutal, attackish, and plain old ganging-up-on

so thank you for keeping a place for conversation

What has the practice of yoga changed in you? What does it mean when we say “that’s not very yoga of you?”

well, re-inforced (and reminded) really -

like when peopel aren't tolerant of belief-variations that could easily be included in a wider perception of "one"

really good info, have been learnng a lot from the discussion groups

first it was about setting up an author's page on amazon, now lately it's about getting some videos done and targeting groups with interests aligned with my poetry subjects

then there are those great discussions on ebook formatting etc, all very very helpful

thanks so much you guys,

adan

i'll take the grocery store dancing as my yogic-ness of choice

which leaves the other choices as still being "yogic" just not my "yogic-ness of choice" ;-)

besides, most people that know me know i rarely pass up food ;-)

nice differentiation 'tween the mental & physical results findings thanks carol!

it's interesting that the research didn't also simply ask if the physical improvements lead to some mental improvements!

re : Do you think that scientists should study the mental benefits of yoga? What would a well-designed study look like?

sure why not, we should "attempt" to study anything that might help us understand what's going on with us in this universe; but as to "how" to create a well-designed study, gonna have to leave that to the true scientific researchers ;-)

meanwhile, i'll keep doing our little breathing exercises to start classes, where we see immediately the mental and physical benefits, however short lived ;-)
