Also he is really VERY BIG. Shaking hands with him: you know those photosets of the weird Disney sexual dimorphism, where the female characters have teeeeeny tiiiiiny hands that are just engulfed by the male characters' hands? It was like that, and I am not even a small, Disney-princess-sized woman.

An assortment of small breads:
A halved Hostess Sno-Ball:
And perhaps my favorite, a comparison shot of two poppyseed kolaches:
The big one is one of my first projects. I'm still proud of it, but it's not exactly a masterpiece; it's made to no particular scale, the "poppyseeds" are basically life-size and not miniature at all, the dough color is not realistic. The smaller one is recent; it's properly scaled for a 1/12 dollhouse, the "poppyseeds" are teeny-tiny bits of grated clay, the dough color is more realistic and uses chalk pastels to get the "baked" look, and overall it is an almost perfect teeny replica of a closed poppyseed kolache from Hruska's. I'm super proud.
I KNOW I said this was the non-mourning portion of the thread, but I just want to say that the Toast is the first place I mentioned an interest in making miniatures, and Toasties encouraged me and gave me suggestions and complimented my work every step of the way, and it seems like such a small, silly thing but it's made me very happy and I'm so glad I've had you guys in my corner.

I hope that in the future they invent a small golden light that follows you everywhere and when something is about to end, it shines brightly so you know it's about to end. ... Maybe, if you're with a group of friends who'll never be together again, all your lights will shine at the same time and you'll know, and then you can hold each other and whisper, "This was so good. Oh my God, this was so good."
("The Light That Shines When Things End," Iain S. Thomas)
This was so good, Toasties, and I'm going to miss it so much -- but I'm grateful that we got to have these last few weeks with our lights shining. And while I may never find another place quite like the Toast, I know I'll always have the Toasties. If you want to find me post-Toast, I'm on Twitter, Tumblr, r/ToastCrumbs, and probably pretty soon Slack all under this same username. Thank you so much, you guys, for everything.
OKAY, now let's talk about something that isn't mourning! CRAFT THREAD! How are everyone's craft projects going? I will share mine in the replies!
