Excellent post, Ken, with many good points.
In situations such as these, I am often reminded of what Christ said when the Pharisees dragged the woman caught in adultery before him : "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" . I am thankful only He could have done that and instead He forgave her and told her to go and sin no more.

Yep, as a guy I can say most of those apply. If I were to add anything it would be :
"Don't say "you never talk to me" and then complain that all I ever talk about is cars, guns or sports. Sorry it's what I know best and mostly all I know."

Great post, Lori, and a great sermon by Pastor Rogers. My self and my 3 siblings had the great benifit of a stay at home mom. While my dad did a great job loving us and providing finanically for us, he did not provide for us spiritually. He had a belief in God but I never heard him confess a belief in Christ as savior.

Thank you for the reply, Ken. I had never thought about approaching it that way but it is definately sounds more productive than the esclation of the argument or my usual way of claming up and closing off emotionaly from her.

Great post Ken.
I would like to ask, when you got to this point :
"I realized I cannot please this women by living life her way. It was not until I threw off the shackles of trying to please my wife, and instead began to tell her "no" I am going to go play golf now... or "no" I am going to eat this burger now, that I began to feel good about my life and stop walking on eggshells in my own home. To realize that I cannot control her, and if she wants to be upset over a burger, then so be it. Let it not rob my joy. "
what was Lori's response. I ask in all seriousness because this is an area in my own marriage where my bride of 34 years and I collide.
