I flew my cat across the country on Christmas last year, which a) is a very strange way to spend Christmas and b) was far more traumatic for me than it seems to have been for her. I spent the entire time, from the minute we left my mom's house in Virginia to the minute I let her out of her carrier in my bathroom in Los Angeles, worried about her. Meanwhile she was definitely scared and unhappy (I'm sure the fact that we were seated directly above the wheels didn't help), but she didn't pee in the carrier and she adjusted to her new environment without a single problem, the complete opposite of the experience I had driving her from New York to Virginia a few months before that.
