I had also seen Ms. Vowell on the John Stewart show and found her amusing, then looked up some of her books. For a book with the gloomy title Assassination Vacation, I heard this is a fun read. Enjoy your books, new follower here on bloglovin and goodreads.

I like dystopian sometimes for a change up. The eerie similarity to the Hunger Games will either help it or hurt it. I suspect for YA readers, it will help, if they are looking for something to cheer for after reading Hunger Games trilogy. Thanks for sharing your honest opinion.

Well, you have a good stack of books, refreshments and a sunny day outside your window. Looks like you are rolling already! Enjoy whatever amount of reading you get done, and just have fun!

I am choking on my iced tea while reading these, because I am holding back loud laughter. Your comments are so funny!! And the posters are so insulting for the most part. Wow, some people need to get a life.
Thanks for the chuckle; I needed it this week...

My dream home would a small cottage (less work to clean and who needs all that space anyway) with a fireplace and a view of either the mountains or the ocean. It would have a wildflower garden around it and shelves wrapping around the walls for books :)

I might overlook the whining to find out about the relationship between James and Bob. I love pet stories so thanks for sharing.

I don't "do zombie books" per se, but I did make an exception for the Forest of Hands and Teeth trilogy, which I enjoyed. This just sounds like fun, because being trapped in a bookstore and blogging when danger strikes..well, that's a fun premise! Thanks for sharing this with us! Great review.

Very powerful intro and premise to this novel. I enjoy historical fiction set after 1900 and this would fit in. Sorry to say that I don't know that much about what happened in the Phillippines during WW II, and as an American, that is a poor excuse. I might look this one up for when the mood hits me to read a book of this genre. Thanks for sharing it.
