The times I've been the only woman in a school or work environment, women-only privacy has been useful precisely for getting away from the fact that I was the only woman in that environment.

(Most cousins are only half-cousins, in that they're only related on one side each, but yes, they're not actually half-siblings, it appears.)

I'm thinking, since he left before the Ironborn kids got to Mereen, and it would take a significant amount of time to do maintenance on 100 ships after an ocean crossing and prepare them to turn around and go right back again (not to mention collect supplies for the soldiers they'll be transporting and add those swanky dragon figureheads to the prows), it was probably weeks if not months between the conversation where Yara promised Danaerys the fleet and the day they actually set out.

Not sure how exactly the tech level with regards to seafaring compares w/r/t Westeros, but Christopher Columbus got approval for his first journey across the Atlantic in January of 1492 and didn't actually leave Spain until August, and then it took him a week to get down to the Canary Islands where he spent a month resupplying and changing his ships' rigging and fixing the things that had already broken in that single week of sailing before he finally set out on the real trip. (For comparison, the actual trip before he sighted land in the Caribbean was only 5 weeks, or pretty much the exact same length of time it took him to get his shit together between Spain and the Canary Islands.) And he was arguably working with higher tech than the people of Essos and Westeros. And had only 3 ships to deal with, and no armies.

So my theory is just that the final scenes of season 6 take place a significant amount of time in the future from the rest of the episode.

The donations thing, omg. He's still collecting donations. From the poor students with tons of debt who give an average of $27, as he's so fond of reminding us. Why is he still taking money from their pockets? I am so angry about that.

Edit: I wouldn't mind so much if he were using the money to actively campaign against Trump, but he's not. Until last week-ish he was still using it to campaign against Clinton, and now he's using it for... nothing in particular.

I just wish he would endorse Clinton, pivot to Trump, and start helping us with the general election. He can stay in the media spotlight or whatever, just, use that money to do something useful and not self-aggrandizing.

Sorry, I am actually really upset about this, since such a huge portion of his base is young marginalized people.

If it makes you feel any better, I've seen several iterations of that post cross my dash and they've always had an addendum from another tumblr user saying "DON'T DO THIS! IT'S DUMB AND TRUMP WILL WIN!" so at least a substantial portion of the 60k+ notes are people reblogging that version.

I mean, I have a high tolerance for food-related grossness and I could see using a pet's water dish... after thoroughly rinsing it in soap and warm water. *shudder*

Man, this took me back to age 13 when I was trapped in my grandmother's house in boiling-hot Arizona with nothing to do but read one after another of the 1,000 regency romance paperbacks she's been amassing since the 30's or 40's. They were all the same and after the third or fourth one, I realized that every single one ended in the lovers' first kiss or - sometimes - there was a kiss 3/4s of the way through and the book ended with an engagement. None of them were the interesting kind of romance novel (like, with sex). It was so disappointing. But I didn't have internet access, and I hadn't brought any books of my own, so I just read those suckers. One. After. Another.

One of the formative trials in my life, honestly.

I agree, but I gotta admit I also really like how at least now every episode has a coherent episode-level plot arc. It was getting pretty dicey in there seasons 4-5 where we'd get several episodes in a row that just had wacky pacing.

...it would be great if we could have evenly-paced, subtle, nuanced storytelling underneath all the battles and dragonfire, though.
