You are absolutely correct, with one possible exception/caveat: PLA *could* get their first production J-31s in less than eight to ten years after first flight *if* their version has fewer innovative/revolutionary systems than the F-35 does. I'd say that eventuality is not only just probable, but in fact is a certainty.

Incorrect. A-10Cs now routinely drop JDAMs and LGBs from above 10Kft. Also, F-15E and F-16 certainly will (along with A-10s and other fighters) go below 10Kft on those few occasions that is required, which typically is only to do a gun pass.

Hmmm, I think there's probably a few thousand JTACs trained in the last decade or so that by your definition would need to go back to the schoolhouse to get recertified.

...as will variants of the F-15E, F-16C/D, F-18C/D/E/F, AV-8B, B-52H, B-1B, AC-130U/J, MC-130J, HC-130J, MQ-9, MQ-1, AH-64D, AH-1Z, MLRS, and M109A6 also replace the A-10.

It is utterly amazing how so many total amateurs and even well-meaning vets of how we fought wars decades ago actually think they know more about warfighting than the professionals who have been doing it continuously for the last 15years!!!
