A little late to the party here, but I thought I would point out that some sources claim that Helen's (unwilling) mother is Nemesis, the goddess of retribution/vengeance, who was then given to Leda. This coupling, the like of which has never happened before or since, resulted in the paradox that is Helen of Troy: something enchantingly beautiful that was also mercilessly destructive.
It is interesting to note that there's a version of the story in which Helen, once she finally gets a break from the menz, is slain by women.
