So if they were white, you wouldn't have been embarrassed?

Wow, race-baiting and it took over 10 comments to get here. Should we consider that a win compared to other threads?

Plenty of white trash rednecks engage in similar behavior across America - the only difference is that most of them aren't condensed in an urban population center. Education, cultural sophistication and economic issues are what drives these kids and their animal-like behavior.

But it's so much easier to say it's because of Race despite the fact that science has never been able to prove that Blacks are somehow more violent or prone to violence than whitey.

You can even legally claim a dog is a "service dog" if it keeps you from getting depressed or so lonely you kill yourself. They don't allow dogs in my apartment building, but my property manager let me in on that technicality which the ADA provides as "comfort animals."

Frankly, while certain small dogs are cute despite their yappiness, they're not practical or reliable enough as service animals - nor do they have a place on Metro.

If it were more like London where the buses ran all night and relatively frequently, that might be viable. If you really don't want to spend more than an hour traveling home, then you can take a cab (frankly, metro runs so infrequently after midnight on weekends, it's pretty much the same issue).

I hate to be the one to make the NYC comparison, but the solution is to have NYC rotating-bar turnstiles instead of the retracting panels. Of course, I always have to make sure I don't hit myself in the balls with them, but like the average Metro rider, I'm often functionally retarded in the morning.

I've offered my seat to various people I've thought were in need and I've gotten *mostly* positive responses whether they take it or not. (Usually, a "thank you, young man!" as they take my seat or a "No, but thank you, that's very thoughtful" if they don't take it)

But there's always that once-a-year or so response that turns you off to offering it entirely: The asshole who thinks they don't need a seat and will berate you for calling their mobility into question, whether it be a mother with a child or an old guy with a cane.

While I'm not deterred to offer people my seat, it's not a given. The level of entitlement this woman has is staggering. Just ASK! Enough people have gotten the negative response I mentioned and while it's a shame, it's quite understandable they have no wish to engage people who might sour their day any more than Metro already has.

Get off your high horse, lady and just ask (politely).

"Fool" works fine for me coming from someone who isn't concerned with an important story garnering credibility. But that's ok. I'll give you a virtual headpat because your attempt to put others down is so unbelievably cute. Aww.

Except getting on the Drudge Report defeats the purpose of credibility which is what we're trying to achieve. Just because people will *read* the article, doesn't mean they'll believe it if it's on a site dedicated to partisan hackery.

And really? "Dork?" That's the best you can come up with?
