The only thing I noticed about this and you said "elitist"--is that Joey left himself outta that mix. WE aren't going to be in chains, Y"all ARE.
Forgive me, but my military background comes into play--WTF is up with the media giving him a pass and now we have that punk Toure crying about "nigger-something? That kid is just a damn tool.

My husband and I agreed...we are sick and tired of the double standard. There is already a law against insider trading. Ask Martha Stewart for crying out loud. This crap is insane.

Wouldn't it be nice to be a liberal for a day? Townhall.com had a story about an occupier who was collecting donations for his "block" for daily expenses. He turned in a few grand, and got his per diem for his block. Next day goes back and has to file paperwork to get the same amount of money! These folks have been had....

The bargaining for the collective will, in the end trump the individual and for the life of me, I will never understand the apathy of others to ignore and take for granted what they have and can lose.

Dave-
One of the things I loved about traveling to Europe to ski was that your choices were your own. If I wanted to drink like a fish and get on my skis and I busted my a*ss doing it, the Arztmedic would save me, but there was no suing the bar owner for my being an absolute idiot. And, you used to be able to smoke anywhere. It may have changed, but I was never bothered by it. That's just the way it was. We are becoming more nannyfied and I simply cannot believe the apathy of most of the people. I am often known to say that those who think the gov't knows best will one day wake up and be as taxed and oppressed as the rest of us!!

Interestingly, I point out that no self-respecting woman would dredge up harassment after many years unless there was something to gain. As a female vet, I dealt with "harassment" every day...I gave as good as I got, and if a line was crossed, nothing a slap to the face wouldn't cure. If any of those dudes ever decided to run for office, I would never consider causing a problem because there would be no point.
Because of all this kind of BS, my husband speaks of female employees and how he has the invisible shield up, door open and a huge box of tissues on his desk. No contact, no kind words if needed because it would all be misconstrued.
Will this help any of the women coming forward in any way other than monetarily?
Perhaps these women-- whom I would call bitter feminist types got exactly what they wanted and regret it like there's no tomorrow, so they now get to heap the ugly on to feel better...Think Eve Ensler, Jane Fonda and making the "C" word beautiful again...
Sometimes you get what you ask for or think you want, and it ain't all it's cracked up to be. And it would suck to be any of them because they are totally unfulfilled human beings.

Apparently, Mr. Yon and his supporters see nothing harmful about his words of false expertise and pretense that he is doing this for the troops. There isn't a military photographer I know (three, who have all been on different fronts...autopsied the dead, etc...)who would videotape an event and then twist it and turn it into something it was not. 59 minutes the wheels were down and he filmed the death of Chazray...and is now using it to chest puff that Medevacs should have crosses taken off and be armed with zero consideration for protocol either as a journalist or however short, his stint in SF. That he would post the video without regard for the family of the soldier is first, last and always a huge mistake. There were other ways to make himself heard. I suspect, again, that Mr. Yon needs to be taken to the woodshed and not allowed any presence in war zones since his filtering of what is truly important is completely non-existent. No one asked him to lie, no one asked that he be expert but we did ask for discretion and all of that is now gone because it's only about Yon, not the truth or the troops.
