I cannot believe Beatrix is 3. Where did THAT time go, eh? She is so cute and your pics are just lovely. Happy Birth Day Ginny, and sweet birthday wishes for your wee girl. <3

Amazing journey, Lisa. Thanks so much for sharing it. We are gluten free as well (In fact, we are grain free...but that's another story) and I know a lot of people who are cutting gluten out of their diets. I've read that the increase of Celiac has to do with the dwarf wheat that is now grown around the world. It is no longer the ancient variety that people were used to...but a very bastardized version. In fact, apparently, when compared to the ancient varieties, our current wheat really isn't even related. It's practically indigestible. Hmmm...ya think? :) With all these cases of gluten sensitivity and Celiac popping it's definitely something for people to be concerned about. I know for my family, we feel much better when we are off it. Like you mentioned above, less bloating, less gas, less inflammation, less irritability, more energy. There's no other choice for us...and I'm so glad you found this path for you and your family. What a wonderful mama you are. xoxo

This is gorgeous and dying yarn is something I've been wanting to do for over a year now. I even have bare yarn in my stash...for when I'm ready. I also have lots of tickseed in the yard. Perhaps today will be the day. Thanks, Ginny. xo

I am so loving our CSA this year. It's just so great to see what we get every week. Our farm share is delivered to a "pick up location" and we volunteered this year to be the pick up spot. I know you can imagine how INCREDIBLE this is for us...and our son. He loves getting out there and helping members find their bins. He's having a blast - and such a great learning opportunity.

What you call husk cherries...we call ground cherries. I'd like to try to grow them next year. SOOOO yummy.

And fall is creeping its way in here in SW Ontario too. I'm loving it though. Summer just does me in with all the heat. I'm ready for a sweater and a crisp evening walk. xo

Happy Birthday, sweet boy. <3

My own sweet boy just turned five two weeks ago and yes, it is BIG. We've been having some real struggles lately and I wonder if it's just as hard for them to adjust to the bigness of five, as it is for us. Sending you sweet love, mama. xoxo

School made us insecure? :)

Marriage is so hard. No ones' is perfect - mine certainly isn't. BUT it's pefect for us. It works. I often expect too much without putting as much in. I often get annoyed when he wants to go out for a chat with a friend when I am doing the same thing on a more regular basis. I often feel guilty when laundry sits for days without getting folded and then he turns around and folds it after working all day, while I blog. He loves me. The Captain loves you. I think it's clear. I wish we could get out of our heads long enough to FEEL it. Sending love to you, Debbie. xo

Oh Mandy, I can relate to your highschool experience on so many levels. You and I definitely would have shared a table...and attended MANY concerts together.

Okay - I just had a big long response written out here and as I went to post it...GONE. Grrr! Bottom line - school messed me up so bad. Because I am a kinesthetic learner, I struggled. I need to be "doing" something - no memorizing stuff to regurgitate at a later date. Because of this I struggled with my intelligence for YEARS. Thought I was stupid. Had incredibly low self esteem. I knew that Isaac would never be a part of this system.

Apart from academics, there are so many other reasons why high school sucked for me. I told my mum once that you couldn't pay me a million bucks to go back for ONE day. Luckily my son will never have to endure the bullying, the negative socialization, the lack of morals, "learning" things that he has NO interest in. I am so thankful for unschooling and for the amazing mamas I've met along the road. Love to you. xo

ps - Finally have you in my reader. :)
