Historically, those who were put into re-education camps were unarmed. We aren't, nor will we be.

Not that I think civil war is ever a good option, and I think that we are many years away from anything that resembles civil war - but I think you'll find, if you closely observe, that a relatively high percentage of military personel would join the cause of the rebellion. There already is a hint of rebellion in the miltary. See the oath keepers, and the fact that 50% of military personel refused to obey the order to collect firearms from civilians after Katrina; just for a couple of small examples.

I also think that a complete takeover would be unnecessary and unwarranted. A rebellion should not overthrow and try to replace our form of government, but it should only make an example of existing abusers of power. It should send a message to remaining and future politicians and industry leaders which says, "You are no different to us than these others. If you ubuse your office, abuse the people, disregard our rights and liberty, or bypass the constitution with your marxist philosophy, this will also happen to you." Our leaders do not fear the people, but they ought to have a reason to.

It's the government that is a threat. The founders knew this from the start, which is why they included the bill of rights in the constitution, and why many of them thought that the second amendment was absolutely essential for liberty. The government is the radical extremist that we need to protect ourselves from. It is the single greatest threat to freedom - by far. A bunch of middle eastern goat herders who happen to be sitting atop of fields of regulation free, cheap oil are a very minor threat in comparison.

Becoming isn't the right word. It is a threat. For "protection" the Soviets had the KGB, the Nazis had the SS, we have the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security.

Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. -Benjamin Franklin.

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away. If the brave lady that hit the guy with her bag had been carrying a gun, this would have ended much sooner. Thankfully the guy was a left wing nut who couldn't shoot.

Rush would love nothing more than the extra publicity when he tells the FCC to go pound sand.

Yes, take over the public schools. But that will take a couple of generations of strategic & dedicated action.

In the meantime, homeschool.
