I think we are very similar. I am also learning how to actively listen. I am practically a newly wed--1 yr married. One thing that I've tried recently is to not say the sarcastic things I am thinking....pause....and apologize sincerely. It's so HARD. My husband is the love of my life. My sister lost her husband a year and a half ago. It was so hard to watch her go through that pain. I could not imagine. That makes me appreciate my husband and family even more each day.
