I'm sure that you are right about me liking it for myself! ;) <3 And B. loves devo/journal/colouring types of books - so if it's still innocent enough topic-wise, it sounds like a good choice for her. Thank you for taking the time to check it out for us and let us know!

At what age do you think this book is appropriate? The format sounds perfect for my eldest daughter, but I'm guessing that she is still too young and innocent for the topics covered. I'll have to keep it in mind for the future. :)

Well, we tried making a leprechaun trap last year and of course, my son loved it! So, this year the girls got in on the action too! B. (7) was really into it and very creative with laying down her pieces of gold to entice the leprechaun to fall into her trap. C. (11) also had a great inventive trap. A (5) just used a big box. lol And then I wrote them a letter from the leprechaun ('Ole Seamus') and gave them all money for our big summer vacation - so they were all excited about that.
We also baked up rainbow cupcakes together and green jello - and came up with a meal (taco salad) that would be rainbow like (red, yellow, orange peppers and green cukes and spinach.... green kale and spinach taco chips... stuff like that)
And they did up some free printables and put them up for decoration.
And we listened to Irish music all day long. Very festive at our house. Speaking of festive, I put up decorations and printables and bought cute headbands for all of us to wear. It has been very fun this year - the starting of new traditions and such. We had covered the Potato Famine in our social studies and how my great-great grandparents came from Ireland around that time - so it was nice to be able to celebrate an Irish holiday in conjunction with some family history learning. :)

Such a sweet doll! And so proud of herself! This is a lovely shot and such a great memory-keeper!

My favorite memory may end up being today: a whole day of homeschool-partying for St. Patrick's Day! Such fun with my kiddos! :)

Sounds like a yummy (and labor intensive) dip - so glad that you were able to really enjoy it!
