I will say that this DLC got five times more interesting to me once I actually sat down and realised Dorothea's significance in Thedas. I love Leliana but that was the crowning moment of the DLC for me.

I would be really interested in hearing you discuss character arcs and stuff once you've played some more, though. There is amazing depth to a lot of these characters that I don't think you got the full scope of in this playthrough - partly because there is just no way to see every nuance of every character in a single playthrough, ever.

And with that one line, Mark, you have summed up the entire Dragon Age franchise. Bravo!

In my case, I had a City Elf who erred on the side of unsentimental when it came to social/tactical issues and, while deeply supicious of nobility in all its forms, had some lingering respect for Loghain because, well, Loghain isn't nobility, or wasn't. Like that Warden, he was a common man in an environment where he was actively oppressed, who then clawed his way up to power and responsibility through a combination of toil and luck.
Plus you're about to fight a war, and he's an experienced General.
There are some decisions which are more difficult to rationalise on the surface in Dragon Age (say, a mage killing all the mages), but I've yet to find one that doesn't at least have the potential to make sense if you craft your character's personality and motivations in a certain way.
