Shit, you got me to misspeak. Oxford didn't use it that way in 1575. They gave examples of it in the 1700s. All before you or I were born.

Did you read the fucking article I linked to, with the history of Oxford using it this way in 1545?

No, you did not. The whole article is about false facts. Who the hell keeps arguing a point they lost while refusing to read an article? The same asshole who missed the word "Webster" I included in my first comment and said "What kind of dictionary is that?" Webster, and although oxford edited that use out of their official definitions, they are actually where it originated.

You don't define the language. Not in the UK. Especially not in *American* websites about *American* TV shows.

You lost. Now you're just being a sore loser. You actually claimed ownership over the language I spoke before you were born (if you are of average brony age)?

Rich. Very rich.

How do the British people say it again? Ahh yes: "I almost agree with you."

No, it's not the same issue in any way. You might want to take it up with someone who publishes dictionaries. I just read them. I'm sorry you don't like what they say, but I am not the person who started using the word this way HUNDREDS OF YEARS AGO.

Ahh, so you are too lazy to scroll the fuck up and look your self, but not lazy enough to not repeat your stupid fucking argument. Merriam. Fucking. Webster. Webster. *Which I said*, but you're too ego-focused to read the word "Webster" that I put *in my comment to you*.

This is the dictionary most AMERICANS grow up with. If you think that's bullshit, then I suggest you shove a copy of the unabridged version into your ego-inflated asshole.

There is a rich and storied history of the word used this way going back hundreds of years. Go fuck yourself. I opened this up 2 hrs ago in anticipation of further bullshit, thanks for giving me somebody to paste it to:

I guess you missed the part where I pasted the dictionary definition for fact, which refutes what you just said. Webster.

The "literally" situation is indeed an abomination. :)

No, I mean what I meant. I'm a Merriam-Webster man. Definition #5 of the word fact is "a piece of information presented as having objective reality". It only has to be presented as true, it doesn't have to actually be true. This was even taught in our schools.

Wow. You don't even know what a fact is.

The Earth has one moon is a fact.
The Earth has 50 moons is a fact.
Facts can be correct or incorrect.
I could write "My name is Clint" on my wall, and it would be a fact.
But if I changed my name, it would no longer be a true fact.

The fact's "truthiness" has no bearing on my original statement. You disagreed with it. That doesn't make it not a fact, it makes it a fact you disagree with.

Saying "if X, then Y", follwed by "no Y, so not X", is just a more complicated a priori fallacy.

Someone isn't a troll simply because they stated a fact you disagree with.
