I love Joyce Carol Oates - she's one of my favorite authors. Which one did you read by her?

Reading what you wrote of Niagara the city, makes me think of Joyce Carol Oates'book The Falls. You should check it out - I think it could be an even more interesting read when you've actually been there!

I somehow forgot how much I like King's short stories/novellas. Maybe I should start reading them again.
And the movie is awesome!

Yeah you're right. Giant plant animals don't seem all that scary - although King makes them so in the book. Very much so, if I recall correctly. Wonder if they were shown in the tv series...

I love the Movie but yeah, the book is a different story. I'm sort of happy the movie didn't include the topiary animals because they were so scary in the book and either they would have been even scarier in the movie or completely missed the mark. I need to reread this!

I think a lot of your favorite books for this year will end up on my books I missed list. I'm not sure I've even read one book published in 2013...

Sounds like you've had a great reading year! Aaaand I haven't read a single of the authors on the list …! I do own Night Circus and I plan to read Rainbow Rowell at some point though. It's great to feel your enthusiasm for all these authors :-)
