I definitely have to mood-read. As soon as I try to make a list or schedule of my TBR, I get way too overwhelmed and end up procrastinating. I agree, reading should be the FUN part! I think one of the best parts of reading for me is finishing one book and following some random whim to my next read.

LOVE THIS. I would love a fantasy from a villain's POV -- especially something like a Breaking Bad-esque book where you slowly watch what you assumed was your hero become the villain.

Ooh, a seven hour train trip is a PERFECT time to delve into Lord of the Rings. I sometimes wish I had more commuting/traveling times, it seems like everyone gets so much reading done!

I skim a lot more than I think I do. If I'm bored or the book's getting slow, I'll skim over descriptions until something action-y happens. And then, if I'm super interested, I'll skim ahead just to know what happens next! Like, I finished The Winner's Crime yesterday, and towards the end I was in such suspense I kept skimming past descriptions just to get to the next chunk of dialogue. Usually I'll go back to make sure I didn't miss anything important, but once you've been reading a book for a while, you become familiar with the rhythm of the writing and can anticipate when you're just going to get a chunk of description that's not going to be super important.

What an interesting concept! Laboratory experiments? Kept in cages? This story's got me super intrigued.
