Scary thing is , this type of leadership can be so subtle , you might not recognize it until you are already burned out. It is not always overtly abusive, and more damaging when it seems to fly under the wire for a while. I would also add "manipulate people and situations in a subtle way" or something like that, to your list.

Pastor Ron.. I know this addresses pastors and you made mention of the word "leaders" several times.. this is SOOO important for women who have leadership roles in the church as well. Just tossing that out there. Thanks for your ministry-

This is so good. I have a hard time pushing past it as well. I am married to a man who is more introverted even than I am- ( I am the worship leader at my church.. he serves as an elder) ... we really struggle on Sunday afternoons. I have to be not only balanced in my own approach to ministry but also protective as to where he is and how much he can deal with on a given Sunday. Delicate balancing act, at times.
