I wanted to take the girls to see the new Muppet film - ok, I'll admit it...it was mainly for me - but my local cinema was only offering a new Alvin and the Chipmunks film for half term. Gutted!!

I complained to a member of staff who admitted it was something they made up in the wake of Sookie Stackhouse, but they had condensed genres onto these shelves as they were falling out of fashion.

I was about to get started on her but stopped myself (there was a queue forming) as I buy almost everything on kindle (where possible) and I'm still more likely to buy any paperbacks from Amazon or somewhere like the Book Depository as Waterstones just don't carry my brand of fiction.

It's sad but true.

This reminds me of a photo I made my hubby take of a section of Waterstones the other day, sci-fi, fantasy, vamp fic all on the same shelves - no differentiation :( They called it Dark Fantasy which is a new one on me.

Can't believe you haven't read Twilight!! And yes I like Sookie...well ok, I don't actually like Sookie (damn but that is one whiny woman) I like Eric - but you need to hang with more educated peeps. How can anyone confuse Sci-fi for UF?? *rolls eyes* perhaps you can teach them :D
