This is something I am really struggling with at the moment. I couldn't stop crying for two days after the Manchester attack, because like you say, it was deliberately targeting children and as a parent, how can you not relate? We flew out to Rome over half term and I was so anxious about flying, and also returning to Cardiff as it was the day the Champions League football final was being held here. Everyone here was very anxious, my husband wanted to take the kids into the city centre but I said no way ... and just as I was thinking after the game, phew, everything was okay, the news broke from London. Just awful. x

Aw, this is lovely. It is always the simple things that make a real difference, I remember one stressful day, with a double buggy in the rain and kids tantrumming, and someone just holding a door open for me and smiling. It honestly made my day and turned my mood right around! x

Ooh yummy! We all love dough balls - but like others have said, they can be a little bit pricey. Great idea to make your own. x

Hope you have an amazing time! I'm gutted not to be there this year as last year was fantastic. Look forward to hearing all about it.

I have such happy memories of a street party when I was a little girl for Charles and Diana's wedding. I must have been about four and it really stuck in my memory. The neighbouring street to us always have street parties and as we know quite a lot of people on that street, we always get an invite (wouldn't quite work on my street as it leads to the main hospital) and like you say, it is so lovely to see that sense of community, with the different generations coming together and having fun together. The decorations here look amazing. So glad you were able to experience this. Fair to play to the Queen - she is doing amazingly for 90!

Ah, fab! Looks like great fun. I love the Royal family! I'm working teaching yoga on Saturday but my hubby and kids are off to a street party around the corner from where we live. We still have all the bunting and hats etc from the jubilee. Love the corgi colouring in!

Yep! This is me too. Made me laugh. Luckily, most of my friends are mums too so they totally understand it. I'm pretty good with texting, but every so often, I'll have a panic and realise I have a text from three weeks ago I still need to reply to! #brilliantblogposts

Ah, I do silly things like this too! I think it is part of becoming a mum - your brain is always processing a million things at once. I find yoga and some of the breathing techniques help me declutter my mind. Just focusing on the breath for a few minutes every day helps, so slow deep breaths through your nose, saying to yourself inhale/exhale or you could say calm/relax or any other word that works for you. It definitely helps me focus! xx
