I found a more complete list in the Advocate. The 2015 deaths total 22. There was also one killing in December 2014, after 2014's TDoR, bringing the total to 23 for this year's Day of Remembrance.

Monica, I'm seeing 14 Americans on tdor.info, not 22. Since I'm leading the TDOR event at my church, I really want to get it right. I too had thought that 14 seemed lower than what I've heard in the news this year. Would you know what the discrepancy is?

I'm late to the party -- I didn't know about TLC honoring you and the other three women until I read it here. Let me say congratulations on this richly-deserved honor and recognition. I've known you as a leader for years -- a leader of trans women of color, and yes, a leader of all trans women.

I did go over to the TLC FB page to read the comments you referred to. Disgusting. Your words in response needed to be said. Over and over, apparently.
