I am just now getting grace - it has taken me 10 years!
I was only able to read part of the post (baby fussing too much), but I will come back and read the rest soon and share it :-)

Great list, very usable and practical. From history, we know that the Pilgrims were not prepared for the weather and growing conditions when they came over here. I wonder how many of these questions they failed to ask?

I can tell you, with out a doubt, that this is one of my biggest weaknesses. Even when we were in the plain church, I had issues with anger and yelling. I hate it and I have improved, but when put under fire (stress) I fail.

I do remember a couple of born and raised plain ladies that raised their voice. Plain does not mean perfect.

"It means working to align our will with God’s instead of begging God to change things to suit our will" - Sadly, this defined me this past biblical year (it is currently the Feast of Trumpets, the begging of a new Biblical year or Biblical cycle). I don't even know how long I can go, asking for what I want instead of asking for what God wants. And I needed to hear this right now - it is a great message.

Thank you Marie!

We are kind of experiencing this right now by being w/o a working vehicle at the moment. Luckily, we had some food stocked up, a few people have given us some additional food, and my husband is getting rides to interviews. But not a fun time.

We do need to prepare better. One way would not to allow the tank to get below half. Then, we should always make sure we have food and water.

We are so used to having what we want, when we want. People are going to have a hard time with what is to come.

Coming over from Mom 2 Mom Monday. I have to admit, I have yet to make a homemade cracker (grahm or "regular") that I can get my children to like, but I am willing to give this a try!

Blessings!

Ask the Lord to interceded and what He wants you to do with the situation.

I do agree with healthy boundaries.

Healthy Choices by Keepers At Home cookbook has a fermentation section (she is Amish or Mennonite) and then there is Nourishing Traditions, which is a book that a friend of mine used for getting started with fermentation and other "old fashioned" means of getting healthy and changing the gut. You do have to overlook the pagan philosophy through it though.

I am sorry that you have to deal with so many allergies. Did I catch that fermenting some foods help, or was it just canning / pickling? Have you ever worked with a Naturopathic doc to see if you can reduce some of the sensitivities?

This is great. One of my hesitancies about moving to wood heating is knowing what to do. With your experiences, I don't have to figure it out for myself and will feel a lot more comfortable if we eventually make that transition.
