Marie, I've been following you since the early days of Canadian Doomer, and my heart broke for you when you talked about all the reasons why you had to move. I'm amazed that an answer has come to your prayers so quickly and thoroughly! As I said, I've long been a fan, but I'll be making notes once again after your move! I live in an 80ish year old home too, so I hear you about the drafty original windows and high heating and cooling bills. I rent, so anything I can do myself is a bonus.
As for faith, I've never named what I believe in 'God', but I do believe greatly in faith. Just the other day I was told my propane bill would jump to over $400 per month from under $200. First I panicked, then I prayed to the Universe, then I convinced myself to have faith the right thing would happen. It always had.
And it did.
They look very sweet together. I'd wager that Mojo will grow to love the new kid, if he's already cleaning her face and ears. We trusted the Universe to bring us the right dog at the right time, and we found a beagle stray in the pound. One of the best dogs I've ever had. Quietest, too. When he passed on of old age, it was a long time before I could look at another dog other than our chihuahua that had already been with us for two years. Three years ago, The Universe decided it was time for another. We ended up saving the last pup in a litter from the pound. No one wanted the one that had his tail bit off by his mother and looked too short for his mass. We did. He is the most protective conglomeration of German Shepherd and ? I've ever met. He is a sweet family dog. It's not his fault that his legs aren't as long as he'd like.
I can't imagine being without dogs, so I was very happy to see you had gotten another.
Great post.
Very nice blanket. You've inspired me to learn how to make one for myself! One question though...your travelling picture, where the knitting is on the dash...where was that taken? It's looks like the country north of Sault Ste. Marie
