Here are a few suggestions for you to look into... Mystery of History incorporates church history/biblical history in its lessons. It is not completely Charlotte Mason although it does have research topics that would lead you to find "living books" on the subject. Another option is Truth Quest which has a huge selection of reading lists divided by age appopriateness.

Green leaf press has some unit studies that incorporate Biblical and historical information. I have used the Ancient Egypt guide many years ago when my children were in early elementary school. I had to adapt it to their ages (not too hard to adapt) and we had a lot of fun. Very hands-on type of approach.

Thank you Savannah and readers of Hammock Tracks Homeshcool for letting me share my heart about homeschooling. It is my prayer that you have found encouragement to follow God's leading and never give up.

We can sell elk and deer antlers by the pound here in Colorado. People make chandeliers, and my grandfather even made a side table using a huge set of elk antlers for the legs - (main beams centered directly under the table and antler tines branching out for support at the floor.) I have purchased buttons made from slices of anters to use on jackets and such too. Good luck hunting for sheds!

I have been where you are (and will probably be there again)...... Praying for you as you spend time with Our Lord. On the plus side, I have noticed that when I come to the end of myself, that is right where God wants me.

My older kids enjoyed the Redwall series too.
Right now we are reading aloud "Crispin: The Cross of Lead." All the children are begging me to read more everyday. I am just as interested. Great style of writing and already a few twists in the plot.
My son is reading "Amos Fortune, Free Man" about an Arfican prince who was captured and sold in to slavery in colonial America. A freat book about hard work and achieving goals, but not action-packed.
My daughter just finished "Sign of the Beaver." I love this story about a white boy, fending for himself in the wilds of Maine, meeting an Indian boy, and becoming friends. Elizabeth Georg Speare does a great job making you feel Matt's turmoil in this novel.
Both my children are using Total Language Plus study guides with these novels.
