Just confirming that yes, Black people do still pass as White. I have some in my family. Could make for interested research, why it would be preferred or felt as necessary today.

I'd say your ideas are spot on! I think that getting books by local authors written in local languages are essential to building literacy. I can remember a certain publisher boasting about their initiative to put American classics into the hands of people in various countries. These stories would make so little sense to them!

I think there would have to be programs to identify existing authors and to develop even more.

I'm on pins and needles waiting for your college decision!

Of course the Kindle giveaway is great, but I'm loving the technology you used for the sign up. Wordpress won't let me do that, but I love it! Wondering if you used a site to create it or did it yourself? BTW, I'm glad Twitter introduced me to your blog!

Thanks for this. I keep working toward writing reviews that bring precision to what I've read. This helps a lot!

I started reading this one but quite. I get so annoyed with free verse! It is too often unnecessary. I even considered writing a post in free verse just to prove my point.
