I suspect that the Pulitzer is often given not for the author's current book, but for that one + a really awesome one in the past that the judges freakin' loved. For example, Breathing Lessons didn't win on its own, it won because Anne Tyler also wrote The Accidental Tourist. The Town won because it was the last part of the Awakening Land trilogy. The Goldfinch won because of The Secret History.
That's my theory...don't know if it holds a thimbleful of water!

I thought this was going to be the Pacific Trail version of Eat, Pray, Love but it was so much more and I was pleasantly surprised. This was an audiobook for me.

A Moveable Feast has become my favorite Hemingway, but did you notice at the end of the book that he makes his second wife the vamp and villain who seduced him away from Hadley?
