Tracking your expenses for a month or two is a great way to get a handle on where your money is going. It will give you a clear picture of what areas you need to cut back in. Often we fall into daily, weekly habits that we don't even realize we are doing.

If you start early and save often there is no need for the side hustle at all. A great reminder to all those kids heading back to college soon. Build your money plan!

I agree with these common sense steps, but they often get overlooked. We fall in bad money habits, I want it now mentality that causes us to over spend and rely on credit. Once you break that cycle money management will be easy!

When I purchase items I look for quality, I want something that's going to last. I don't mind spending a few more dollars for that. It doesn't have to be a name brand. Often people fall into buying names brands just to try and impress others.

I agree, there are no short cuts. When we decided to get out of debt. I looked for a get out of debt quick fix, but only found common sense, sacrifice and hard work would do it. We are teaching our three kids the same so they get get off to the best head start as possible.

I'm not a sneaker head, so speaking a few hundred dollars on them never made sense to me. I don't like to send a lot on depreciating assets. People resell and wear other peoples sneakers? Smells odd to me. :)

I certainly don't want to be working into my seventies, at least because I need too. I think your wish for financial freedom echos why a lot of people what to reach it. Spending more time with friends, family, and working on project they love. We want to be able to leave work early too and not have to worry about money at some point. The key is to have a plan to achieve it.
