Perhaps prior to being sent back in time, Ronbledore promises Hermione that he will never love another woman. Thus, his need to love and be loved combined with his stalwart loyalty led to a diversion in orientation. (Dumbledore being gay, and whatnot.)

Funny side-note. The guy's Hebrew tattoo (00:51) when he says, "...so you know I have a past." The Hebrew word is a time indicator used throughout the OT to let the reader the know the rest of the sentence is past tense.

Pretty clever satire.
