You've sold me, Goldie. I think I've partially fallen for McClellan just from reading your review. :) I adore HR but don't get enough of it. I hadn't heard of this trilogy so I'll add it to my tbr. Let's see...you also put Eloisa James on my tbr. What other HR author should I read?

Wow, sounds like a very powerful and moving story, Goldie. I felt the same way about Thirteen Reasons Why - I think it should be required reading in high school. I think the last book I read to really, really touch my heart was Hopeless by Colleen Hoover. Great review!

I have a nook glowlight and a kindle paperwhite so I don't use an app of any sort. Before I had a kindle, I always sideloaded pdfs onto my nook, but sometimes the formatting was messed up. That's why I like my kindle - I can email the pdf to my kindle and it converts it. But I'm still fond of my nook, too. I am worrying about Amazon policies though. Hmph!

Sounds as though more character development would have helped. Maybe? I'm glad the magical element kept you interested enough to finish. I'm just sorry this didn't quite live up to its potential.

I adore HR, Goldie, especially Regency era HR. I don't know that I've read Ms. James though. I do like the sound of Four Nights with the Duke though. That Mia is a strong heroine is particularly welcome. I like that she stands up for herself. I also can agree with you taking issue with Brody's treatment of Mia at times. That's not necessarily a trait we want in our heroes. Great review! I'll add this one and Eloise James to my tbr. :)

Thanks for sharing the excerpt, Goldie. This is a book I've seen around and keep meaning to read. :)

The synopsis definitely makes it seem as though the book is going to have you laughing out loud. I'm sorry it didn't deliver and that you had such a hard time connecting with the characters...and plot, really. I don't typically DNF books and I give you kudos for finishing this one. I'm not sure I would have. At least it was fast-paced. :)

Darn it! This is a book I was looking forward to reading. I don't know if I saw anyone else's review of it...can't remember. LOL I'll go check out bookworm1858's. But it seems as though I don't need to waste my time with this. Can YA authors produce anything fresh?!?

Boohoo! I had read good things about this one, L. Now I'm not so sure... I'm sorry it didn't work for you dear. I think you have valid points here for why it didn't. :) Here's hoping your next read is outstanding!! ;)
