I saw a trailer for Bridgerton recently and now I really want to watch it. I'm going to take part in the Historical Fiction Challenge too. I love that it's so versatile. I wish you the best with your challenges!

It sounds like you had a nice week over all. Good luck with your studying! You read quite a few great sounding books. I hope you have a great week! Take care and stay safe and well.

Your #2 has worked for me in the past--even novellas will do the trick sometimes. Sometimes I find that giving myself permission to take a break from reading (because it feels wrong not to be reading), and focus on some other interest I've been neglecting helps for a little while is enough to regain that reading spark. I'm in a bit of a slump right now, and I really think turning to a favorite author and genre that I know will grab me will help. At least that's what I'm hoping! Thank you for the great ideas!

I haven't yet read a Alyssa Cole novel, but I do want to. I really like the sound of this one and will have to add it to my wish list. Thank you for your great review!

I have been wanting to read The Year of Living Biblically for awhile now. I am glad to see you liked it. The Intelligence Paradox sounds fascinating. I have discovered I cannot listen to nonfiction. I do better with light fiction in audio form. Or celebrity memoirs, evidently. Anything that doesn't require me to think too much. I may have the check The Intelligence Paradox in print though. Now that, I can do.

I need to dive into my Elizabeth George books . . . Pillars of the Earth did not feel so long when I was reading it. It was so good! I liked The Fireman quite a bit and have read The Stand too. I don't know if I'll ever get to It. It's never really called to me. Great list!

The title alone would catch my attention. This sounds like it will be a good one--relateable and entertaining. I hope it is!

I still struggle with audiobooks. I drag them out for what seems like forever, even when I am really enjoying them. I know my husband wants to try the Lumberjanes, but hasn't yet gotten around to it. I read Metamorphosis in high school and it has stuck with me all these years later. So many other books have faded in detail, but not so much that one. It made quite an impression on me. :-)

I hope you have a great February in books!

I just love Ben Winters' trilogy. I am so glad you continued to enjoy it this year. You've got a great list here, Elizabeth. I need to get back to Rowlings' series. I feel like its been forever since I read The Coroner's Lunch. I really liked that one as well. Magpie Murders is on my wish list. Hopefully one of these days I will get a chance to read it.

I hope you have a Happy New Year!

Hazel Wood made my list too. :-) I almost included Hartman's book, but it's on my 2018 reads list (I didn't want to duplicate) for late December. I'm dying to read it though. I think all the books you've listed here sound great! I hope you enjoy them!
