Yes. He takes it out on you because he knows his love for you is safe and secure and that even when he vents he knows you'll still love him. It's pretty common to see a big difference between your kids' behavior at school and home (all kids) and it was explained to me once that kids are insecure at school. They don't have a relationship of trust and love with their teachers. They can't be honest with them. Can't vent to them. Can't share feelings (good or bad) with them because of that insecurity.

The blessing and curse of that security is that you're getting a tongue lashing. It IS nice to know that the reason is because he knows you love him. You're making him feel loved. You're making him feel secure. That's huge, Karen. You just gotta muscle through all the bullshit that instilling a sense of security in your kids brings with it. heh.

you missed my point. I meant from your husband's perspective. Has he changed his tune since you originally wrote that he perceived you as an enabler.

I won't watch it. I think there are two camps: those that watch the show and listen as it speaks directly to them, and those that refuse to watch the show because they're living it and prefer to be diverted from it.

I don't like dramas in general, and specifically am not interested in dramas that are going to force me to stare MY life directly in the face. If Parenthood adds more explosions, ninjas, robots or zombies? Well, let me know.
