I'm a new granny (our grandson is now 6 months old). We rely on Tiny Beans (a very cool app) to get our daily dose of grandson. My favorite one this week involves a video clip of him belly laughing because his little friend is getting tickled. For some reason, Abel thought it was hilarious. We may have watched it 33 times already...
I remember the days when we could celebrate Christmas on the 22nd or the 28th--the girls hadn't learned about calendars and days yet ;), and sometimes we needed to celebrate on a different day because of work schedules! May God be with you through all of your seasons with your little ones!
Wow! What an exciting opportunity! God certainly has a sense of humor, doesn't he? May He be with you as you show up and embark on a journey of discovery!
I especially like the one about eating 7 apples on Saturday :). That's the student's philosophy right there--and it does nothing to promote real learning. As a teacher, I fight against this one all the time.
I had no idea who sang the song "Mickey", nor that the artist has been so influential in the music and film worlds. The first time I heard that song was when I came home from late night movie date with my husband and some friends and our babysitter and kids were blasting the song on the stereo and dancing to it (at one in the morning)! Made me laugh.
What a wonderful opportunity (and, I've having major jealous pangs over the curry opportunities!). One of my former students was spending a year over in India (I'm not sure which region), but the school where he was working was tragically flooded in a flash flood about a month ago and he had to come home (none of the lives of the 600 students were lost, but the school community mourns the loss of one of the beloved teachers). Even though he was only over there for a month, he fell in love with the people.
Don't tell anyone, but I start listening to Christmas music at the first frost (sometimes September ;) ). I used to enjoy the Chipmunks back in the day (on vinyl). Now I love Barlow Girl Home for Christmas as well as Amy Grant's Christmas Albums and Josh Groban's Christmas album.
You've got to stop making me wish I 1) had little ones again so they could enjoy all of this cool music or 2) making me wish I had some grandchildren ;). Excellent resource!
More great ideas for music :). Thank you for sharing your expertise and knowledge. We raised our girls bilingual, and we love to sing in both Spanish and English :).
What a fun idea! To have music to match activities. I'll have to check out the music company you mention.
