Sorry to hear. I was fired 2 days before Christmas 2 1/2 yrs. ago and I initially was in shock too. As you can see though, I'm still here so getting thru can be done. Whatever it is worth, here are my comments. For me, it required a reassessment of many, if not most things. I learned that there are so many things that one can do without and still have happiness and peace; it just requires some change in thinking. I was 58 and not in good health when it happened so my prospects were very limited. But there were still options for me. I wasted a lot of time being angry and focusing on unfairness. Focusing on strengths and the value of each other; and not listening to your fears b/c they lie is a good place to start. Then focus on restructuring financial stuff and starting again. Good luck and God Bless.

Sounds like you are highly organized which is key to saving time. What I tend to procrastinate on is paperwork. I really dislike it so I have to keep organized on it so that I can hit it and forget it. I try to do as much as possible online so that I don't have to deal with the paper and it is easier to find things that way.
Thanks for all the tips. I really learned a few helpful things. Love the one about precooking and the timer trick. I don't have a smart phone or blackberry yet, but the Starbucks app sounds neat as a time saver and organizer.
