I first heard this joke from a Jewish person who liked to quote old Jewish jokes. Either there are Jews out there who don't know this is antisemitic or the telling by the priest may have been innocent. However, this candidate demonstrated pompousness when confronted on some Jews taking offense at the joke. The sensitive thing to do when someone makes a mistake is to apologize for not realizing it would offend some. Not doing that makes it seem as though he doesn't care if anyone takes offense. I have to wonder how he would feel if a Jewish politician told a joke that was insulting to some Catholics. Would he take a different position?
"hacker" should still have a negative connotation to all regardless of the purported motives of those who are executing the hacks. All hackers are deviants who seek to harm you, even those who pretend that they are doing it to help someone else. All criminals conjure excuses for their behavior in the effort to solicit supporters and defenders. Don't be fooled. They are still deviants.
The only meaning for "fume" that I know of is either "to fume" meaning to be angry or "fumes" meaning foul smelling gaseous emanations of a fire or other source.
Did you study any history in school or do you know who was living there in 1949 when the Brits split up the area? Jews were living there with some Arabs. But, Jews were the majority living there before that. The land was barren when Jews continued to migrate there before 1949... nothing grew.

Matt, I took your advice and googled Phyllis Chesler. I read the Wikipedia article about her. She is fantastic! Dedicated, intelligent, tenacious and helpful to people who need her help. She has worked her heart out for women and that is a good thing. Why in the world would you think her vile? I want to read all of her books now.

I wish I could hit the down thumb 15 times for this comment, Moe. You insinuate bad things against people you don't know. You assume bad things about people you don't know. Wouldn't that, too, be a form of Lashon Hara? I don't know anyone involved in this, but I am embarrassed for what occurred here. It is terrible!
Your point in posting this is? Lashon Hara! Her post does not show any mental illness and her points are normal for anyone outside of one of the ultra Orthodox communities or OTD. It would seem that the only way you can get your jollies is by coming here under a pseudonym and trying to defame someone here. Why would you do that? True or not, it doesn't matter in this discussion. Her opinions here are just as valid as anyone else's and you merely make yourself look like you have no integrity.
This whole thing was totally uncalled for,in the first place, then it takes him way too long to cuff and arrest her which would be the reason to do this -- he is merely torturing her when she isn't even resisting -- then, it is horrible that this is posted on here in total embarrassment of her. All in all, the metro police officers involved in this ASSAULTED this woman and stayed on top of her in a sexually assaultive manner, pulling her hair and slapping her -- I kept hearing slaps -- and the whole time until the half-way point when I finally couldn't watch or listen anymore, her arm is loose and free and neither does she try to use that arm to do anything nor does he attempt to cuff it. He was a brute using his authority to sexually and physically assault someone while using the excuse that she had been drinking. She neither sounded drunk or looked drunk and was walking away when they went after her.
Horrible and there is no way to defend this; the officers should be fired and charged with the crime of assaulting this woman. Drinking alcohol is not illegal if the person is above the legal age of the place where she is at that time.
